The Medistrom Pilot 12 Plus is a Battery Backup for your CPAP or Bi-Level machine. The battery back up is ideal for users in areas where power outages are normal or frequent as well as user's whom camp or need to use a CPAP or Bi-Level for a night without electrical power.

The Medistrom Pilot 12 Plus Power Supply Battery is compatible with the following manufacturers and machines (See bottom of page for a full list):

NOTE: The Pilot 12 Plus DOES NOT work with ResMed Machines.

Backup Use: To ensure the CPAP machine does not stop working in the case of a power outage, use the Pilot-12 as a permanent backup power supply. Just plug your charger into the power outlet and into the battery input jack the same way as you would do when recharging the battery. In the Output jack, plug in the Output cable with the proper tip to fit your CPAP machine, and plug in your CPAP device. Use your CPAP machine as usual.

PORTABLE CPAP BATTERY: Pilot-12 can be also used as a portable CPAP battery during travel. Your CPAP Machine will run off the battery when the regular power source is not available in situations such as camping, road trips, and during air travel.

Additional Features The Pilot-12 comes with additional features that are essential during power outages such as a bright LED light and a USB port which can be used for charging cell phones and other handheld devices.

To ensure longer run time, please use PAP device without humidifier (or with humidifier set at 0 or off) and when it is not being used (during the day), please be sure the battery is switched off by using the on/off switch on the front panel. This will prolong the life of your battery.

Special Features

Medistrom Run-Times

The Medistrom Pilot-12 and Pilot-24 run times will vary depending on device settings, leak, patient breathing patterns, ambient environmental conditions and battery age. Several tests were performed on different devices with and without the humidifier enabled. For travel usage we recommend disabling or disconnecting the humidifier. This will allow for approximately 12 hours of continuous run time on typical settings (EPAP = 10cm H2O, low leak, a respiratory rate of ~15 BPM). When used with the humidifier enabled, the Pilot-12 and Pilot-24 will supply 3-4 hours of power. This scenario is typical when the battery is being used as backup power supply.

Keep in mind that the batteries can be connected in a dual configuration that will effectively double run-time.
